Irrigation by Valves

In tree crops (and viticulture) it is likely that you would like to record your irrigation records by valve.
When a valve is turned on, it will apply water to 1 or more blocks or sub-blocks.
agCommander can be configured to enable you to record irrigation events in this way. It does require some special configuration however...
STEP 1 - Enable Irrigation By Valve for the Business Unit. [ System Setup > Organisation > Business Units ]

STEP 2 - Set up each Valve [Cropping > Configuration > Irrigation Valves ]

There you will see 2 tabs. One for the Valve Name, Water Source (optional), Emitter Type (optional) and Emitter Output per Hour (Needed)
The second tac is used to set up the blocks or parts of blocks that are watered by the valve.

The Areas Irrigated tab...
The number of emitters is important. agCommander will sum the number of emitters and multiply that number by the emitter output to calculate the total water applied when the valve is open.

STEP 3 - Adding a map polygon that represents the area watered by the valve

Having completed the configuration on your valves, you will now be able to use them for entering your irrigation records...

... or using the Map Tab ...

The irrigation report will show the Valve used in a column on the Tabular Report ...
See below: the Valve Name has been used as the "Group By" column.
