Split a Cropped Area for Hay Production

Often when planting a crop you will not know that you will be cutting a portion of the area for hay. To ensure the program takes the correct care of all your records, we have added a special facility that splits off a specified area of a planted cropped area for hay production.

Here's how:

1. Go to the Cropping | Season View | Cropped Area Overview | Annual Crops

2. Select the cropped area you need to split

3. Select "Split Off a Sub-Area For Hay Production" on the "Tools" menu...

4. Enter the area to be split off ... Save

Here's what happens:

1. A new planting record is created for the hay production area

2. The original planting record is edited to reduce the planted area by the area you entered for the hay production area

3. All records associated with the original planting are split allocating the areas worked to match up with two new areas

You will notice that the "Planting Name" of the newly create hay portion is set to "HAY SECTION"

Having set up the new sub-area for hay production you can then add the actual Hay Production record in the Diary or the Season View
