Step 1

In the System Settings section of agCommander you will see a vertical tab with the label "Data Exchange Settings"

This is where you choose the Weather Station type that you will be using. Click on the Add button on this screen

The form to choose your weather station type will be shown.

Please Note: The list of weather stations is evolving constantly... At the time of writing the list was as shown here below

The instructions from this point will be different for each of the weather stations that we are catering for in agCommander.

If you are using your own (on-farm) weather station or stations, you will need to know the credentials used to access your data. The credentials will have names like "API Key", "Secret", "Password" .. etc
We have set up the form to enable to enter whatever credentials are required for your chosen weather station.

To keep this simple, I will choose "Weather Bit" which is a worldwide service.

The name for this "API" ... is whatever you need to call this data provider to distinguish it from others you might be using.

Step 2: Go to the Weather Module > Configuration and Click "Add"  ... or if you already have weather stations set up but are now connecting them up to the cloud-base weather data streaming, click on the edit button.

Step 3: Assign your fields to the weather station

Why?
If you want agCommander to provide you with Water Use Efficiency feedback / reports / graphs for your fields, this step is important.

The automated job weather feature in agCommaner will also use your field-weather station associations to ensure that the job weather records that are automatically entered for you by the agCommander auto-weather system are as relevant as possible.

Choose the fields associated with the weather station being configured. Click Save when done.

Step 4: On the "Weather Records" tab, fetch the streamed weather data from your data provider by clicking on the button shown here (top right of screen). Each time you click on that button it will fetch any data missing from the month currently displayed on the screen.

Auto-Populate Job Weather records

You will also need to go to the Cropping Module -> Options and tick the "Enable Automatic Population of Job Weather Records" as below:

Then when you create a weather record for a chemical spray job, select the Weather operation and click the "+ Add" button:

Then on the weather details form, simply add the "start date/time" and "end date/time" fields and click save and the records should auto-populate if everything is setup correctly.
