Creating Filters

1. You can create a custom filter by selecting animals from…

The IAR Home screen

Select the animals you want to create a filter from and then press the “Create Filter” button.

An IA record

Go to the record you want to create a custom filter from and press the filter button.

An import

Go to the import you want to create a custom filter from and press the filter button.

Note: only files imported from June 2022 onwards will have the filter button enabled.

2. You will see the New Animal Filter screen.

If you are creating a filter from an IA record or an import, then a default name will show. You can change this to whatever name you want. The filter must have a name and the name must be unique.

If you want to exclude an animal from the filter then untick the animal. This is useful if, for example, you want to create a filter of only dams or sires from a mating record.

Using Filters

Once you have created a custom filter, you can use it from…

The IAR Home screen

Your custom filters will show under “Filter Animals” button.

Reports

You can select one or more filters under the “Custom Filters” option for any IAR report.

IA Records

When selecting animals for a record, the filter list will show you both the standard filters and the custom filters you have created. Only animals from the selected filter that also meet the criteria for the job type will be shown. For example, only females and males in the filter will be shown for a mating record.

Editing or Deleting Filters

Select the “Maintain Custom Filters…” option which is shown on the IAR Home screen “Filter Animals” button.

Editing a filter allows you to change its name or remove animals from the filter. You can also delete a filter you no longer want to use.

Note: you cannot add animals to a filter when editing.
