Setting up your farm, fields and the farm map

Please watch the video above to see how to add farms and fields or blocks and also the various ways to get your farm maps set up.

There are several ways to add the boundaries of your fields/paddocks/blocks (I'll call them "fields" from here on) to your farm maps

To get started with agCommander, you need to set up your farm or farms and the fields. That is done in the System Setup module. Look for the cog icon in the black toolbar (left side of the screen).

As you add each new field to the list of fields under System Setup, you can

A) manually draw each field using the drawing tools.   or...
B) select each field from an imported file (SHP, KML or geoJSON). You choose the file to import, click on the relevant polygon and click Save.

C) select each field from a map layer that you have already drawn or imported into the agCommander Mapping Module. You choose the layer, click on the relevant polygon and click Save.

If you have no file to import, you may find that it's quicker to create a new Polygon layer in the Mapping Module, then draw in all your fields and use option (C) to set up each field under System Setup.
