How to Operate agCommander as a Bureau Service

agCommander is well suited to running as a Bureau Service. Firstly your subscription level must be "Enterprise".

agCommander running in Enterprise Mode has two distinct access areas.

In the screen shot below, use the ( 2 ) "agCommander Enterprise Options" > "Enterprise Configuration" button to access the configuration of all shared lists of inputs (Consumables, Operations, etc)

... and the "Choose Your Business" ( 1 ) section is where you will see the list of all Businesses in the Bureau Service. To enter the main data entry and reporting program, choose the relevant Business Unit and click on "Select"

How to set up the list of inputs that will be shared across all the Business Units

Access "agCommander Enterprise Options" > Enterprise Configuration

Step 1: Set up all the likely modules that your Bureau Service Business Units might use.

Start by clicking on the Cog Icon (shown above) on the main toolbar down the left hand side of the screen, which takes you to the System Setup tabs.

Then click on the "Global Settings" tab.

Choose the modules you want to use from the list in the bottom half of the screen and country type settings in the top half of the screen. Click "Save" when done.

There is a video here, that describes how to do this.

PLEASE NOTE: Individual Business Units can disable any of the global settings to suit their needs, but they can't enable any option unless that option has been enabled at the Enterprise level.

Step 2: Set up the shared list of Consumables (Chemicals, Fertilizers, Fuels, Sundries). There is a video here, that describes how to do this.

For the normal (non-Bureau Service) use of the Enterprise system, you can transfer inventory from one Business Unit to another. The Inventory of Consumables module would need to be enabled on both Business Units.

Step 3: Set up the shared list of Machinery Operations and Manual Tasks. There is a video here, that describes how to do this.

PLEASE NOTE: The video describes how to set up assets. It may not be appropriate to add a list of assets in the Bureau Service system.

A list of operations is adequate to enable agCommander to track machinery operations.

Setting up a list of assets could be appropriate for the normal use of the Enterprise system however.

Assets can be shared between Business Units. That might be useful if 2 or Business Units are in close proximity of each other.

If some of the Bureau Service Business Units will be running livestock,

Step 4: Set up the Livestock Options and Settings (video here), then Set up the Livestock Breeds and Categories (video here

PLEASE NOTE: The Livestock Module is enabled (or disabled) on the Business Unit Settings form. By default the Livestock Module is disabled.
For the normal (non-Bureau Service) use of the Enterprise system, you can enable an option to allow the transfer of livestock between Business Units.

How to add a new Business Unit

Access "agCommander Enterprise Options" > Enterprise Configuration

Then follow the steps in the screen shot below

... then fill out the Business Units Settings form (shown below) ... be sure to set up the cropping module options and tick the livestock module options if applicable.

How to add Staff for a Business Unit

Click on this link to the relevant Knowledge Base article and also a video here, that describes how to do this.

You also need to allocate the staff to their business unit(s). The easiest way to do that is to log into the Business Unit and use the button shown below. You can also allocate staff to Business Units from within the Enterprise Configuration area using the same button shown below, but it is less user friendly to do it that way.
